Another Ruffle
I ssssoooo love the colors in this Sashay brand skein. Color is called Shuffle and it's a blend of white, light brown and a maybe darker taupe brown color! Too bad the sun isn't coming through the window at this time of day, to bring out the colors better!
Granny Square Bear
So I'm making the granny square bear on Heidi Bears for a friend. It calls for "fingering weight" yarn... I got baby yarn. Not sure if that is the same thing? What's annoying me is that it uses tiny hooks. I have no problem using tiny hooks with crochet thread, but they keep snagging my yarn. Grrrr. I'm hoping I can make it through to finish this because it's so cute. Do you know if there is a brand of hooks that are designed to where they can hold the yarn and not snag it as you're pulling it through? I bought Boye hooks.
Another Sweater/Shrug
Made with Loops & Threads Charisma yarn in color Mountain Majesty. Totally love the colors on this one! 2 skeins in, was beginning to think "this is going to look like a horse blanket"....but once I finished it, not too bad!

Comparing "Ruffle" yarns....
Here's a pic of the Starbella brand. As you can see, it's packaged all scrunched up, so it does take a little time and practice opening the weave while working on your project. The holes on the bottom are where you crochet/knit, leaving the solid line part to become the bottom of your ruffle.
This pic is comparing the netting between Starbella brand (top) and Sashay (bottom). As you can see, Starbella weave is more open than Sashay.

Special order
My friend Keesha placed a special order with me for this beauty! She found a scarf pattern online that she liked but prefers a cowl (so I just attached the 2 ends) and mailed this wool yarn to work with. She had me double the width for a larger cowl. This shell pattern gives a nice texture to this cowl but I have to admit, the double-triple crochet stitch got a little old towards the end of this project! :)
